Massachusetts uses screws to fasten their license plates to their cars that are made out of plastic. Arizona is hot. When you try and take plastic screws out of a metal car in 105 degrees, the plastic caps immediately snap off so that it seems like you will never be able to put a new license plate on the car ever again. Interesting...
Suggested solution: (1) Immediately get pissed. (2) Attempt to unscrew whats left of the screw with needle nose pliers until you eventually rip off any remaining part of the screw still projecting out of the car. (3) Call your dad to share your piss-offed-ness...and to ask for advice. (4) Heed advice and use drill bits and screw drivers in an attempt to manually unscrew whats jammed, but in actuality be sure to only put weird craters in the plastic which will refuse to budge. (5) Wipe sweat off face (still hot out). (6) Drive to Fire Stone Total Auto Care to further share frustration and listen to mechanic laugh at you: "oh boy, you'll never get those out." (7) Drive to Home Depot, buy sheet metal screws and screw those f'ers into the holes that you invent in a fit of fury. Success!
Also, don't forget you don't need to get stainless because it doesn't rain here! Haha, you plastic screw using suckers!
Fellow Heat Victim Hint Number 1: Your car's windshield is going to heat up and cool down at new extremes. Thanks to more recent glass technology, this alone won't usually cause a windshield crack, however! A small stone that bounces off along the highway or a little nick on there that you wouldn't even notice in other areas of the country is now going to become a huge spider crack! The hint: a)call your insurance company and find out how your policy is going to handle that, make any adjustments needed with the assumption that its gonna happen. b)fix all small miniscule nicks IMMEDIATELY at one of those roadside windshield guys. they work. really.
